Applied Materials (AMAT)- The July $25/$30 bull call spread was put on 5,373 times for a $0.77 debit. Volume was below the open interest in both options. The company has a pending merger with Tokyo Electron that will be headquartered in the Netherlands (tax inversion, synergies).
Idera Pharmaceuticals (IDRA)- 2,500 Apr $3.50 calls were purchased for $0.35. Call activity was 4x the average daily volume. They were granted orphan drug designation for IMO-8400 yesterday. IMO-8400 is for the treatment of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
Intel (INTC)- Over 8,000 Apr 10 weekly $32 calls were bought for $0.14, against open interest of 5,957 contracts. Today, they announced their annual shareholder meeting will be on May 21st. Intel is also rumored to be interested in acquiring Altera.

The stock has dropped after earnings on 5 out of the last 7 reports, but it is down about $1 from where it was last month. Atmel trades at a P/E ratio of 13.82x (2015 estimates) with 40.9% EPS growth (63% this year), 8.7% revenue growth (5.5% this year), P/S ratio of 2.53x, P/B ratio of 3.91x, and has an average analyst price target of $9.63.

FOXA- The Jan. 2016 $28/$40 bull risk reversal was put on 20,000 times for a $0.35 debit. Volume was above the open interest in both options. They bought the $40 calls and sold the $28 puts.
INTC- 40,000 Oct. $33 calls were sold for $1.48 each, against open interest of 82,345 contracts. 75,000 were bought for $0.27 on 6/13 as part of a rollout from 25,000 Oct. $30 calls.

HES- 5,000 Aug. $92.50 puts were sold for $0.67 each, against open interest of 767 contracts. Earnings are due out on 7/30. There has been continued  bullish options activity in Hess recently via call buying and put selling.

AAPL- Apple shares are bucking the trend in the overall market today, currently above the $500 level and in positive territory. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is near the September lows, which is where the stock bottomed out. The call to ratio in (AAPL) options is still below average at 1.20.
