- GILD- Large buying in the Aug. 16 $85 and $87.50 puts this morning. Volume was above the open interest in the Aug. 16 $87.50 puts. Earnings are due out on 7/23. Net put premium was +$1.7M vs. net call premium of +$24K in early trading.
- HES- 5,000 Aug. $92.50 puts were sold for $0.67 each, against open interest of 767 contracts. Earnings are due out on 7/30. There has been continued bullish options activity in Hess recently via call buying and put selling.
- INTC- Roughly 10,000 July 19 $32 calls were purchased for $0.19-$0.23 each, against open interest of 13,754 contracts. Earnings are due out on 7/15. The call to put ratio in Intel was 10:1. Implied volatility rose 9.3% to 21.50. Typically trades 55,545 calls per day.
- POT- More than 2,800 Aug. 1 weekly $37 puts were sold for $0.68-$0.72 each, against open interest of 311 contracts. Earnings are due out on 7/24. Former resistance at $37.00-$37.50 in Potash from May is likely to act as the new current support on any retest.
