New All-Time Highs In The S&P 500
Now that the government shutdown has ended and the debt ceiling has been raised, U.S. equities are no longer hostage to news out of Washington (for now). The S&P 500 (SPX) finished the week at a new all-time high, rising 2.42%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) added 1.07% and the Nasdaq-100 (NDX) soared 3.71%. Volatility (VIX) closed at a one month low, tumbling 17.05%.
